Imagine Love

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Imagine Love, 2010

This is also a mixed media piece combining acrylic paint, cut paper, and digital work. My goal in this piece was to illustrate different emotions that we have in any relationship, especially romantic ones.

Girl, In-class Study

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Girl, In-class Study, 2009

This In-class study is a technique that was brand new to me. We did oil washes, and then worked the painting up on top with acrylic paint and colored pencils. This is the first time I had ever tried any sort of mixed media technique, and I really enjoyed it.

Moments

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Moments, 2009

I threw conventional perspective out the window with this piece, and tried to find a new angle on a man and a woman dancing in the moonlight.

Ecology

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Ecology, 2009

This is the final piece of the series, bringing all the elements together from the other 4 parts.

Ecology parts 1-4

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Ecology parts 1-4, 2009

I did a piece about ecology for my design class, and each part (5 parts total) had to add more texture, pattern, decoration. These were the preliminary 4 pieces of that series.

A Sheep Shaving

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: A Sheep Shaving, 2009

This was my first acrylic painting of the semester. It was a hybrid focused piece, in which I wanted to give an animal human-like characteristics. I have always thought that the faces that men make when shaving are really funny, and I have allowed my mind to wander to what it would be like if sheep could shave themselves instead of getting sheered.

Reach

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Reach, 2009

The assignment was to draw someone sitting, and most people did someone sitting on a toilet or in a chair, but I wanted to be a bit more dramatic with it and tell a bit of a story with my "sitting person".

Color Your World

This is a piece from my sophomore year at CCAD

Entitled: Color Your World, 2009

I was experimenting with the use of graphic shapes to make up an image as well as color. My goal was to make it look like the paint tubes were making the world become colorful, but under her umbrella she was still sheltered and black and white.
